It’s hard to put into words but being Jewish means to me but I’ll do my best.
When I was 16, I spent a semester living on a kibbutz outside of Jerusalem. For four months we toured the country, learned about the ancient history of the land we stood on, and learned more than I ever thought was possible. Out of all the things I learned, the most profound thing was just how special it was to be Jewish. I showed up not knowing a single person and left feeling like no matter what, I had a home in Israel.
